Spotify Lossless Is Here!

And MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 Is Ready for it.

Good news for music lovers: Spotify has officially launched a Lossless audio feature for premium users, and Sennheiser’s MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 is one of the earbuds built for exactly this kind of upgrade. If you want your music as close as possible to the original recording in a wireless option, now's your moment 🎧

What is Spotify Lossless?

  • Spotify Lossless lets Premium subscribers stream tracks in 24-bit / 44.1 kHz FLAC format, essentially CD-quality, with none of the audio information stripped away.
  • It’s rolling out gradually, already available in many markets (including Germany) and will expand to over 50 more in the coming weeks.
  • You’ll be able to enable Lossless from your device’s Spotify app: under Settings → Media Quality, switching from “Very High” (or similar) to “Lossless” for streaming/downloading.
  • Important notices: Bluetooth has limitations. Many Bluetooth codecs can’t transmit full lossless

How MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 Supports Lossless

The MTW4 is one of the Sennheiser earbuds built to take advantage of this new wave of high-quality streaming. Here are the features that make it especially well-suited:

  • aptX Lossless support à MTW4 includes Qualcomm’s S5 Gen 2 platform with aptX Lossless, which allows for true lossless audio transmission when paired with a compatible source device.
  • Bluetooth 5.4 / Snapdragon Sound à modern wireless tech helps with improving reliability, connection quality, and preparing you for the future with technologies such as Auracast.
  • TrueResponse transducer system à to deliver rich, detailed sound so that the lossless streams are not just theoretical, but audible.

What This Means in Practice (and What to Check)

Even with all the tech, to really hear the difference, a few conditions matter:

✔️ What to have

Why it matters

A device that supports aptX Lossless (or other lossless-capable codec)

Without that, your earbuds will fall back to a regular compressed Bluetooth codec, and you lose fidelity.
